    Default Silver rings

    Hi,

I will be making two silver rings, about 6mm wide....wondering about:

    - ideal thickness, was thinking of using 0.7 or 0.8mm
    - soft or half hard silver? I presume after being worked, soft will be fine?

    many thanks

Hi, it says fully annealed, which is for ease of bending, but as you say, the final hardness will depend on the amount of deformation of the metal by hammering, after soldering.
I would go for thicker if your budget permits, probably at least 1.0mm thick, so that they stay good and rigid when finished. Dennis.

I do make rings using 0.8mm. Usually if it's a wide band.
